INSPIRE @ IMPACT Day

Insights into the multifaceted knowledge and technology transfer at Heidelberg University

Heidelberg University’s second IMPACT DAY will take place on May 15, 2024 from 12 noon. It will be hosted by the transfer agency hei_INNOVATION, which is organizing the day for all members of the university to show how interesting, diverse, exciting and fascinating knowledge and technology transfer can be – from the latest inventions to social innovations.

From 1 p.m., four transfer islands with special transfer projects on the topics of social relevance, industry, experiencing transfer and sustainability will be presented in the foyer of the Neue Universität. In the afternoon, workshops will be held on the topics of innovation and transfer, such as design thinking, podcasting, science communication, social entrepreneurship and patent protection. Registration in advance is required. The day will be accompanied by food trucks on Universitätsplatz from 12 noon.

The evening program from 6 p.m. includes the final and the award ceremony of the hei_INNOVATION ideas competition and a talk by Jan-Martin Wiarda with the entrepreneur, investor and author Tijen Onaran and the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer, Prof. Dr. Katja Patzel-Mattern.

The INSPIRE platform team will also be represented on this day as a strong transfer project based at the Mannheim Medical Faculty during the guided tours of the transfer islands in the university’s Neue Aula. The platform, which is operated by the M²OLIE office, offers start-ups and SMEs systematic and organized access to knowledge, technology and care in the clinic.
